Success

He has achieved success
who has lived well,
laughed often, and loved much
;

who has enjoyed the trust of
pure women,

the respect of intelligent men and
the love of little children;

who has filled his niche and accomplished his task;

who has left the world better than he found it
whether by an improved poppy,
a perfect poem or a rescued soul;

who has never lacked appreciation of Earth’s beauty
or failed to express it;

who has always looked for the best in others and
given them the best he had;

whose life was an inspiration;
whose memory a benediction.

Often misattributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson, the saying actually has its roots in Iowan poet Bessie Anderson Stanley’s 1904 poem Success.  It is a motivational three-word phrase that became a popular slogan in the late 2000’s and early 2010’s.  It aims to give hope when experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, and other feelings.  Fill your life with positivity.

La Dolce Vita ; Italian for “the sweet life” or “the good life” is a 1960 satirical comedy drama  film about a tabloid journalist who, over seven days and nights, journeys through the “sweet life” of Rome in a fruitless search for love and happiness.

The secret to living well and longer is: eat half, walk double, laugh triple and love without measure.” – Tibetan Proverbs

“Successful people live well, laugh often, and love much. They’ve filled a niche and accomplished tasks so as to leave the world better than they found it while looking for the best in others, and giving the best they have.” – Ralph Waldo Emerso

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. – Winston Churchill

So now faith, hope and love abide, these three, but the greatest of these is Love. – 1 Corinthians 13:13
