About Me
Elizabeth Moffett, LMHC
My mission is to assist every client process, change,
and regulate maladaptive to adaptive information in the brain.
With over 20 years of experience practicing psychotherapy, Elizabeth works with teens, adults, seniors, families and couples. The many issues I work with are anxiety, depression, bipolar, personality disorders, ADHD, panic attacks, PTSD, anger, senior issues, cognitive decline, loneliness, life stage, grief and loss, self-esteem, body image, alcohol/drug addiction, co-dependency, abandonment, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, etc. As a Trauma Therapist, Elizabeth helps clients to work towards the body’s innate ability to heal itself. I assist individuals to process and change negative dysfunctional thoughts, reducing the effects of trauma, to develop positive emotionally regulated thoughts for healthy life skills.
Elizabeth’s education is a Bachelor of Arts Degree was in Paralegal Science from Eastern Kentucky University, practicing as a Paralegal in both Kentucky briefly and then 15 years as a Paralegal in Broward and Palm Beach County, Florida. Participating in several ministries in church in both Kentucky and Florida was a great part of my life. Elizabeth has always had a desire to serve others. Her volunteer work includes various Women’s Prison Ministries in Broward and Palm Beach County for 13 years in jails, prisons and work release centers, facilitating psycho-educational addictions and mental health groups for my internship, and other ministries such as nursing home, homeless, medical ministry and missions work in Bolivia.
Working in the field of law wasn’t a fulfilling career for Elizabeth, so she quit and reflected on what gave more meaning to my life. After traveling to Italy and Paris, Elizabeth knew that she needed to go back to helping others on a more daily basis. La Dolce Vita (“The Sweet Life”), as the Italian phrase goes. That is when she decided to make a career change and received my Masters in Counseling Psychology at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Elizabeth has certifications in Brainspotting and EMDR. She has also attended and completed certification at the Center for Deployment Psychology headquartered at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, which trains military and civilian Behavioral Health Professionals to provide high-quality Deployment-related Behavioral Health services to Military Personnel and their families.
The evidence-based therapeutic modalities Elizabeth works with are Brainspotting/EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused, Life Review and Reminiscence Therapy, Family Systems, Internal Family Systems (Inner Child), Resourcing Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based (MBCT). The foundation of successful therapy is based on the therapeutic relationship with the client. Elizabeth provides a safe environment with trust, respect and empathy. I work with clients both in office and virtual on Zoom Healthcare. Elizabeth looks forward to serving you and helping you heal.
